New on heimat123.de: Angela Skrimshire's Review of HEIMAT-Fragmente - Die Frauen. |
Angela Skrimshire's "Appreciation of Edgar Reitz' Heimat
Films" now published (January 19th 2009)
Dear HEIMAT-friends, many of you will remember Angela
Skrimshire, living on the Scottish island Colonsay, from her contributions to
the heimat123.net mailinglist-discussions of Heimat 3. Inspired initially by
participating in those discussions, Angela has more recently been working on an
essay, which she calls an "Appreciation” of the Trilogy . For that she has
watched all the HEIMAT films again, and reflected on her direct personal
experience and impressions of them.
The result of her work now is online simultaneously on
heimat123.net
and heimat123.de, as an e-book in pdf (1,42 MB). The document contains 129
pages and is written in English. For easier navigation the chapter and section
headings are bookmarked as links to be accessed and expanded in the pdf
“Bookmarks” panel, as well as from the table of contents. The work contains
reflections on all films of the trilogy from different angles and approaches, e.
g. about the way of telling the story, the use of colour and light, but also the
characters' development over time and the history around them. All HEIMAT-friends
will like it, I am sure.
Please respect Angelas copyright for the material, you are welcome to download
and print it for personal use, but every further publishing or commercial use is
prohibited.
